Awami League presidium member and coordinator of 14 central parties Mohammad Nasim have specially requested the Minister of Road Transport, Minister of Railways and Minister of State for Shipping to make arrangements to stop all types of long-distance vehicles, launches, and trains on Eid.
In a statement on Thursday afternoon, he said it was important to ensure that no decision was made on the movement of vehicles without transporting emergency goods before and after Eid. If a decision is made based on the slightest emotion, the people of our country will have to face a more difficult situation for COVID-19.
Mohammad Nasim further said that Holy Eid is ahead. Due to coronavirus infection, this Eid is not a festival of joy in any way. Excluding religious formalities, everyone should celebrate Eid at home. But we are worried that in the name of Eid Journey, the number of people heading towards the village or the city may make records again. If such an incident occurs, the coronavirus will take a terrible form in the country.
He said although the state minister for public administration has assured, this time Eid will have to be celebrated from home. In that case, public transport, trains, launches have to be strictly closed. No vehicle should run in the country without transporting emergency goods.
"I believe in a country where people die of coronavirus every day and the number of cases rises, people will make these sacrifices to help each other," stated Nasim. Let us all celebrate this Eid from where we are.
