Donald Trump, President of USA, stated Saturday in his tweet that he was "happy" with Kim Jong Un's reemergence and that the leader of North Korea is completely well.
President Kim has appeared publicly after almost three weeks amid widespread rumors that he was extremely sick or probably dead.
North Korean state TV telecasted Kim walking, smiling brightly and smoking a cigarette at what the North said was the opening of a fertilizer factory in Sunchon, north of Pyongyang, on Friday.
Since his ostentatious disappearance at April 15 celebrations for the birthday of his grandfather, the founder of the North, speculations about Kim's health have been roiling, because it was the most significant day in the nation's political calendar. His absence sparked a series of lurid revelations and unverified news about his health status.
Kim's absence from public view came as Pyongyang's negotiations with Washington over the North's nuclear weapons are at a halt although there were three meetings between Kim and Trump. Whether Kim had been immobilized or dead, it would have intensified the confusion over the process.
Trump had brushed aside rumors about Kim's health issues and possible death.
