Social distancing and safety measures for tennis players during Covid19 outbreak

Welcome to what the tennis world could look like once prohibitions as a result of the pandemic Covid-19 have been removed.

On May 1, the International Tennis Federation published guidelines for local and national tournaments.

The rules require arriving at a tennis court already dressed venue and leaving immediately after a match has been finished. "Do not use the dressing rooms or bathrooms," instructed the ITF.

Masks are to be worn when off-court players and officials are supposed to keep two meters distance between themselves.

Handshakes are also restricted. Each player will be using their own set of balls and boys and girls will put on rubber gloves.

Signing autographs for fans or taking selfies with them are also strictly prohibited.
