Lockdown due to pandemic Coronavirus is occurring all over the
world. In such a scenario a draft resolution was sent to the UN Security
Council to end the war in various parts of the world. That was an offer
made by Germany and Estonia.
Earlier a draft ceasefire between France and Tunisia
was blocked by the United States. Consequently, the proposal could not go any
further. The United States has, in turn, opposed the earlier proposal for
having the name of the World Health Organisation, or WHO, and has practically
destroyed the proposal. For this reason, the World Health Organization has not
been mentioned in the new proposal.
The new proposal, according to the French news agency
AFP, includes five topics in the previous draft proposal, instead of the nine.
The decision focuses on helping the 20 countries involved in the coronavirus
crisis or war. As in the previous proposal, it has called for a humanitarian
ceasefire to help the worst affected communities for at least 90 consecutive
days.
When the vote will be organized on this proposal
is unknown at this time. It wasn't immediately clear whether the US would
oppose the proposal or not. Source: Purse Today, AFP.
