1 crore 40 lakh primary school students will get 1600 TK per head before Eid

Department of Primary Education of Bangladesh is issuing stipends 1600 tk for each of 1,40,00,000 students

The good news is that almost 14 million students of govt. primary schools in Bangladesh will get financial aid from the government. For the first time, the pupils are receiving money for purchasing school uniforms, shoes, and school bags along with the due stipends of the last six months. In total, each student is getting about 1,600 TK on average. On May 5, Tuesday, The Department of Primary Education (DPE) has issued the release order of the fund. The cash will be sent to the parents' phones via mobile banking before Eid.

Primary education stipend project (third phase) director MR. Yusuf Ali reported that Upazila Education Officers have been ordered to upload the beneficiaries list for the third and fourth payments of the grant to the Sure Cash Portal of Rupali Bank before 14 May. The government wishes to give scholarship money to the mobiles of the recipients before Eid-ul-Fitr, according to the department's instruction. If the list of scholarship recipients is not published on the Sure Cash site of Rupali Bank by 14 May, the action against the involved Upazila Education Officer will be taken.

The timeline of this initiative has been expanded to next June because of the Prime Minister's persistent actions. The fund will also be released even during the lockdown period.

There are about 14 million students in the country's 6,720 government primary schools. They all receive government scholarships. Any student earns a monthly grant of 100 TK. In addition to this, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has declared to pay BDT 500 for new school uniforms, bags and shoes per student for the "100th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation 'Mujibborsho.' Last January, the decision was announced. This money has not been provided to the students yet. Now the sum is being increased up to 1,000 TK and the money is issued.
